Product Description

Orthopedic splints are low-cost and lightweight compared with traditional plasters. After solidified, the hardness can be 20 times of plasters. The product is made of large grid materials and has better air permeability compared with traditional plasters. It can be penetrated by X-rays; the blood supply at the extremities is easy to be observed, which is conducive to early function exercises of joints.

Features

 

1. Select proper size of splint according to different parts of body, no need to wear gloves for doctors.
2. Open the package, immerse the splint in room temperature water (21-24'C) for 4-6 seconds, and squeeze it 2-3 times to complete penetration of water into the body of the splint.
3. Take it out and squeeze or wipe out excess water by using dry towel.
4. Use the splint to cover the fixed part and wrap it by gauze bandage or elastic bandage to secure and mold it freely.
5. After water soak the splint begins to solidify in 3-5 minutes and can bear weight enough in 20 minutes.
 
Notes

The weakness of orthopedic splints lies in poor shaping: it's uneasy to be fixated especially when fractures or dislocations are near joints; even when it's fixated, it tends to come loose, which will lead to fracture displacement, not convenient for long-distance transportation. The splint has general performance in terms of air permeability. Albeit with better performance than plasters, it is rather difficult to dry thoroughly when exposed to water, causing problems such as allergic, itchy, and smelly skin.
